Mixpanel – Data Analytics

Share

Mixpanel is an event-based analytics platform. It differs from tools like Google Analytics because you need to define the actions and events (e.g. Signup, Purchase, etc) sent by your app or website.

Mixpanel tracks user engagement and interactions that can more accurately guide product development and business decisions across several teams within an organization.

Once you’ve configured, you’ll be able to use Mixpanel’s user analytics, create funnels, analyze retention cohorts and figure out user journeys.

Mixpanel integrates with dozens of popular platforms, including Salesforce, Zapier, Marketo, and Zendesk to uncover information that was previously been separate or hidden.

Mixpanel is more than an analytics platform and can be used to send emails, SMS messages, push notifications and in-app messages to customers based on their profile. Another great feature is the ability to run A/B tests.

  • Mixpanel takes a bit of time to set up, but it’s easy to use to analyze user behaviours, retention and feature adoption.
  • Mixpanel’s SDK for mobile analytics platform (iOS and Android) is among the best on the market. You’ll be able to get rich insights on mobile usage with their platform.
  • Depending on how far you want to go with marketing automation, you can use Mixpanel to send push notifications, emails, and SMS messages.

When building a funnel in Mixpanel you can apply conditions on any event. As an example, if you’re tracking registrations, you can take into account registrations through Facebook.

The existing funnels can be segmented by any parameter of its events. A parameter could be something as simple as a change in a particular button’s colour. You can define watch how that changes user behaviour towards that change.

You can also watch how conversions at different points change over time, i.e. the per cent change in users’ at different points inside your marketing funnel.
